PENNSYLVANIA FIREARMS ASSOCIATION BLASTS FAILED LEFT-WING POLICIES AFTER FAIRMOUNT PARK SHOOTING

Philadelphia, PA – May 27, 2025

In response to the horrific mass shooting in Fairmount Park last night that left two people dead and at least nine injured, the Pennsylvania Firearms Association issued a strong statement today condemning the soft-on-crime policies that have turned Philadelphia into a war zone — and reaffirmed that gun owners are not to blame.

“This bloodshed has nothing to do with gun owners and everything to do with a collapsing culture, broken families, and a corrupt political class that refuses to enforce the law,” said Chris Dorr, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Firearms Association. “Larry Krasner has turned Philadelphia into a revolving door for violent criminals, and now innocent people are paying the price.”

The shooting occurred during a Memorial Day gathering in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park, where multiple people — including teenagers — were shot. No arrests have been made.

But while the bodies were still warm, radical anti-gun politicians were already lining up to exploit the tragedy to push for more gun control.

“They always point the finger at law-abiding gun owners like us,” Dorr continued. “But the truth is, the people of Pennsylvania are not the problem. It’s George Soros-funded prosecutors like Larry Krasner — who refuse to prosecute violent criminals — and a Left that has declared war on our families, our morality, and our civil society.”

For years, Pennsylvania’s gun owners have warned that the real threat to safety isn’t the firearm in a working man’s gun safe — it’s the lawlessness allowed to fester in Democrat-run cities like Philadelphia.

“The same politicians who demand that you and I be disarmed are the ones who’ve let the streets fall into chaos,” said Dorr. “They release thugs with rap sheets a mile long while trying to outlaw AR-15s and turn parents into criminals for defending their families. Enough is enough.”

The Pennsylvania Firearms Association is calling on every gun owner in the Commonwealth to stand strong, speak out, and refuse to be scapegoated.

“We’re not giving up a single inch of our freedoms because of the failures of leftist politicians,” said Dorr. “If anything, this tragedy is one more reminder of why good people must remain armed. You’re on your own in Philadelphia — and if you think the government is going to protect you, you haven’t been paying attention.”
