The days of working with moderates on the Left to advance freedom and gun rights is over.
Sure, there are a few ‘blue dog’ democrats in the rural areas, but they are a species on the verge of extinction in today’s Democrat party.
If you’ve been paying attention to what is happening in our country today, you know that everything is different now and all of our freedoms are on the line.
Feeling energized by the war against our freedoms playing out in Congress and the White House, radical leftists in Harrisburg are chomping at the bit, eager to advance freedom shredding legislation like:
>>> ‘Republican’-Sponsored ‘Red Flag Gun Confiscation’ legislation (Todd Stephens’ bill) that would empower liberal judges to order your firearms to be seized based on the word of an embittered ex-spouse during a secret court hearing that you know nothing about, all before you’ve been charged or convicted of anything!
>>> Bloomberg’s Universal Background Check law (SB 88 and HB 235) that would require every Pennsylvanian to be tracked, traced, and registered like a convicted sex offender for simply loaning a Remington 870 to a hunting buddy!
>>> Legislation to repeal PA’s pre-emption statute (HB 361 and SB 598) which is the only thing stopping anti-gun mayors in towns like Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and dozens of others from enacting their own local gun control laws.
It’s safe to say that every single Democrat in Harrisburg (and more than a few moderate Republicans) hate the Second Amendment, they hate gun owners like you and me who fight to protect it. And they are doing everything they can to crush our right to keep and bear arms!
And these three bills are just three of the multitude of control bills that gun-grabbers have been pushing for over the last two years.
I’ll be honest, I don’t see this trend reversing any time soon. In fact, I think it’s only going to heat up with everything that is going on in our nation right now.
That’s why I am writing you today.
The mission of the Pennsylvania Firearms Association has always been to stop gun control, advance pro-gun legislation, and to hold the politicians who stand in the way of those goals accountable.
Each of these efforts are vitally important to the future of our freedoms here in Pennsylvania — but they come at a cost.
And when you combine our work to stop gun control bills in Pennsylvania with our fight to pass Constitutional Carry and the Second Amendment Preservation Act, while also pouring pressure on Pennsylvania’s Congressional delegation to stop Biden’s war on guns in D.C., the costs add up FAST!
And while I’m able to make budget allotments at the beginning of the year after we complete our annual renewal program, after the first few months of the year, I often am forced to make cuts in our programs because we can’t afford them.
With the growing threats that we are facing, that is the last thing that I want to do.
